Letter from the President

Please forgive our little "tongue-in-cheek" biography page, but we couldn't resist injecting a little humor into your day!  Dan and I truly value the people that work for us; they are our greatest asset and are the most important part of our success!

Applied Audio & Theatre Supply has been serving the Western New York area since 1973, and we have been constantly expanding since we first started in our humble offices on State Street in Rochester.

Staff Biographies

Lou "Stecchino" Calarese
Lou is our President and C.F.O. He is originally from Mattydale (we don't know either), New York, and has been working for us since 1975 (the year Krusty was born). When he's not in Las Vegas, he enjoys downhill skiing, mountain biking, golfing and dreaming about Las Vegas.

Dan "Slappy" McKenzie
Dan is our C.E.O and Production Manager. He hails from Fairport, New York, and has been working hard for us for over twenty years. You may not know this-but Slappy is secretly planning to welcome a pony into his extended family! When he's not working he enjoys golfing, spending time with his family and sleeping.

Andy "Zipper "Greco
Zipper is our Sales Manager, and frequently mixes stage monitors for us. He is a transplant from Brooklyn, New York (Go Yankees!), and has been a member of our staff for more than 15 years. He enjoys cruising, mini-biking, playing hockey, Rock Band, and critiquing the president.

Jeff "MC Hair" Stid
Jeff is our Service Manager and Installations Manager, as well as our senior factory certified ETC Field Technician. He was born in East Lansing Michigan (Go Spartans!), and has been on board with us for well over 10 years. Jeff enjoys explaining things and pacing rapidly. He's always smiling because he is a newlywed (Awwww!)

Gordon "Gordie" Erickson
Gordie is our senior service technician, and a darn good one, having worked for us since the neolithic period. He was born in Minnesota, where he survived treacherously cold winters and bizarre accents (oofta). He is an accomplished hunter who enjoys spending time with his family, the sounds of AHa and sneaking meals at Taco Bell whenever the opportunity arises.

Andy "Krusty" Mulye
Krusty is our rental and production technician, and originally is from Henrietta, New York. Krusty is enjoying his 17th year of affiliation with the company. Good job Big Guy! When he's not dreaming up your next rental solution, he enjoys chasing his hyperactive dog, playing one of his billion guitars and improving his backyard.

Dan "Thud" Swartout
Thud (don't ask) is our service and certified ETC installation technician. He comes to us from Canandaigua, New York (Yes, everyday!) He is the standing competitive-grilled-cheese-eating-champion for 2008, 2009 & 2010. He welcomes your challenge.
